About me
Andy Mason BSc MBCI MBCS CITP
Andy is the founder and Director of Logical Resilience Limited. Since going independent, he has worked with clients across various sectors and industries, and has also become a BCI-approved trainer, delivering BCI-licensed training courses, and certification courses for ISO 22301 (Foundation, Lead Implementer, Lead Auditor).
Andy was Head of Business Continuity at PwC (2006-2018), responsible for the UK and achieved certification to BS 25999 in 2009, and in 2013 to ISO 22301. Andy worked with other parts of the firm's global network, helping Africa to certify to BS 25999 and ISO 22301, and the Middle East firm to achieve ISO 22301, helped the Australian firm likewise, and supported colleagues across Europe. Andy was the catalyst for the firm establishing its own BC practice for clients, now one of the leading voices in the BC industry.
Andy originally started in BC management at Sainsbury's and was responsible for the development of BC plans for the loss of systems and data centres, and into the Supply Chain, principally the depot network.
Andy has experience of responding to incidents from terrorist attacks, to major network outages and cyber events, from fire, flooding and power outages to travel disruption, strike action and fuel protests, serious product recalls and 'reputational incidents'.
Prior to moving into BC, Andy spent time as an IT auditor, covering all elements of Sainsbury's IT services, including the Millennium event and a £54m disaster recovery project. He performed IT audits and politically sensitive reviews for the Chief Executive at Hertfordshire County Council, including Fire and Rescue Service and the Police Authority. Before moving into audit, Andy had a background across all aspects of IT operations.
Andy is a member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), and is a long-serving member of the BSI Committee that developed BS 25999 and ISO 22301. He is a member of the British Computer Society (MBCS), a Chartered IT Practitioner (CITP), with a degree in IT. Andy has a merit pass on the Certificate of the BCI (CBCI). Andy was awarded ‘Business Continuity Manager of the Year’ at the CIR BC Awards 2010.
